Can I bring my reactive dog?

Accepted Answer

Yes — and we genuinely want you to. A private, fully enclosed area with no unexpected dogs, no passing strangers, and a buffer between sessions means you're in complete control of your dog's environment in a way that's almost impossible to replicate in a public park.

It's worth knowing that our three areas sit side by side, so if another customer has booked an adjacent area at the same time, your dog may be able to see them at the fence line. For some reactive dogs this is actually a positive: the chance to observe another dog at a safe distance, in a controlled setting where no approach is possible, is the kind of gradual, low-pressure exposure that many behaviourists actively encourage. Others won't be ready for that yet — and you'll know which camp your dog is in far better than we do. There's no pressure either way.

If you'd prefer a quieter slot, our live booking calendar is publicly visible so you can choose a time when no adjacent areas are booked. Earlier in the week or last-minute on a quieter day often means the whole park to yourselves.

What if my dog is reactive or nervous around other dogs?

That's exactly what we're here for. Your area is exclusively yours during your session — no other dogs, no strangers, no surprises. There's a buffer between bookings so you won't meet the previous or next visitor at the gate either.

Can dogs see into the neighbouring areas?

The three areas sit side by side with adjoining 6ft fencing, so if a dog goes right up to the shared fence line, they can see into the next field. No other dog will ever enter your area — each booking is fully exclusive — but visual contact at the fence is possible if another customer is using an adjacent area at the same time.

Why isn't there screening or privacy netting between the areas?

We did look into this, but unfortunately it is not something we are able to do. Any fabric or mesh would flap and billow in the wind, and for anxious or reactive dogs an unpredictable moving object running the full length of the fence line would almost certainly cause more distress than an occasional glimpse of a dog next door.

The most reliable way to ensure no dogs are visible in adjacent areas is to book a quiet slot using the live calendar, or to register for a Reactive Dog Account which automatically blocks the neighbouring area every time you book.

Question 5

How does access work? What if my dog bolts at the gate?

We use a double-gate airlock system. You'll receive your gate code by email when you book. Walk through the outer gate, close it behind you, then open the inner gate into the field. Two gates are always closed between your dog and the road.

Question 6

Are XL Bullies welcome?

Accepted Answer

Yes. XL Bullies and other DDA-restricted breeds are welcome, but conditions apply and are non-negotiable — required by our insurer. Before your first visit you must provide us with a Certificate of Exemption (or exemption order) and a public liability insurance certificate for the dog; both are kept on file. Outside the enclosed field — including the car park, paths, and the airlock gate area — your dog must be on a lead and muzzled at all times. Once inside the field with the gate securely shut, the muzzle comes off and they can run free. Each restricted breed dog must have its own dedicated 1:1 handler.

What happens if it rains?

The park stays open in all weather. We recommend wellies between October and March — the field can get muddy after heavy rain. There is a weather shelter on site.

Question 8

Can I bring more than one dog?

Accepted Answer

Yes — up to 4 dogs from the same household per booking at no extra charge. For larger groups or breed meet-ups, get in touch about extended group sessions or register a business account.

Question 9

Can I cancel or reschedule?

Accepted Answer

You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your session. Inside that window, the booking is non-refundable — but we're reasonable about genuine emergencies, so drop us a line.

Question 10

What's the car park like — will I encounter other dogs when I arrive?

Accepted Answer

There are 6 designated parking spaces — 2 per area — with at least 3 metres of open space between the nearest spaces for any adjacent area.

Sessions are timed to stagger arrivals and departures naturally. Area 1 always starts on the hour, Area 2 starts 20 minutes later, and Area 3 twenty minutes after that. Each session is 50 minutes, so by the time the next visitor is due to arrive for your area, you should already be on your way out. Assuming visitors arrive and leave on time, the chances of crossing paths with another dog in the car park are very low.

If you have a reactive dog and want to minimise any chance of an encounter, arriving at your start time rather than early and leaving promptly at the end of your session gives you the most breathing room.

Is there parking?

Yes — free parking directly adjacent to the park. You can unload your dog safely right next to the entrance.

Question 12

Do you provide water, bags, and bins?

Accepted Answer

Fresh water is on site, poo bags are in the shelter, bins are at the entrance. Bring your own ball or toy — we find they have more fun with their favourites.

Question 13

What about vaccinations?

Accepted Answer

All dogs must have current standard vaccinations. This protects the next dog on the field. We don't ask for proof at the gate, but by booking you're confirming your dog is up to date.

Can I book a birthday party or group meet?

Accepted Answer

How big are the areas?

Accepted Answer

Each of our three areas is between 0.75 and 1.25 acres — plenty of room for a good run, a game of fetch, or recall training with real distance.
